BYOD (bring your own device)

BYOD stands for bring your own device. It means staff use their own phones, tablets, or laptops for work, rather than ones the business buys. Most small teams already work this way, because buying devices for everyone is costly. A salon team might check bookings on their own phones, and agency staff might use their own laptops. It saves money, but it creates risk. If a phone with client details is lost or a staff member leaves, your data goes with it. A few simple rules help a lot, like screen locks, two-step logins, and business accounts that you can switch off. Keep client data in shared business tools, not on personal devices.
