Fixing the app you built with AI that won't quite work
Where we help

Getting your app from stuck to working

You used an AI coding tool to build an app, and you got further than you thought you would. Now the login fails, the bookings won't save, or every fix breaks something that worked yesterday. Building an app by describing it to an AI (the industry calls it vibe coding) is a great way to get an idea on screen. Getting it to work with real customers and real data is a different job. We look at what you've built, find out why it's failing, and fix the parts you need for the next useful release. Then we explain what we changed, so you're not stuck again next month.

You’ve got the idea and the code. Now it needs to work.

AI coding tools like Cursor and Claude Code can get an idea onto a screen in an afternoon. You describe a booking page and it appears. You ask for a customer login and there it is. For a small business owner who’s never written code, that’s a real step forward.

The hard part comes later. The demo looked right, but the buttons do nothing. The login works on your laptop and fails once it’s online. Or you ask the AI to fix one error and it quietly breaks something that worked yesterday.

Find the cause, not the symptom

An error on screen often starts somewhere else. A blank page of bookings might come from a failed login, a database rule, or a missing link to the server. Asking the AI to change the page again won’t fix any of those.

So we start by running your app and making the problem happen. Then we follow it back through the code and the tools it connects to until we find the cause. We explain what we found in plain words, so you know what’s wrong and why.

We also look for the problems you haven’t hit yet. AI coding tools often paste secret keys into the code, skip checks on what customers type in, or let any logged-in customer see everyone’s records. Those need fixing before real customers use the app.

Agree what the next release needs

We work out with you the few things your app must do well. For a booking app, that might be a customer signs in, picks a time that’s free, and gets a booking you can see. That gives the fix a clear finish line.

Some apps need a few focused repairs. Others need part of the app reorganised before any more changes will stick. If starting again is the better choice, we’ll say so, explain why, and tell you what can carry over. You see the plan before we start.

Fix, test, and get it ready

We work on a copy of your app, so nothing you have today is lost. We fix one thing at a time and test each fix against the steps your customers take. We also test what happens when things go wrong, like a customer leaving a field blank or a payment failing.

Then we get it live. We check the setup, put secret keys somewhere safe, and write down how to release a new version and how to undo one that goes wrong.

The same thing happens with AI helpers, not only apps. We work with a three-person online skincare store whose first AI helper sent simple tracking replies on its own. It answered a customer whose jar had arrived broken with a cheerful tracking link. We switched auto-send off, and every reply now waits for the founder. Returns still go through by hand.

Keep control after the fix

A working app is only half the job if you can’t change it next month. We hand over plain notes on how it runs, what we changed, and anything still left to fix. You can keep building with your AI coding tool, now on firmer ground.

If you’d like us to keep looking after it, that’s part of our AI & Technology Partner packages. If the app’s purpose is still fuzzy, start with mapping how you work. We fix apps for small teams across e-commerce, coaching and online education, beauty and wellness, and hospitality and events.

Where we help

Getting your app from stuck to working

01

A plain look at what you've got

We open the code and the setup, run it, and tell you in plain words what works, what doesn't, and what your next release needs.

02

Broken features and lost data

We trace why a button does nothing or a booking doesn't save, through the screen, the server, and the database, and fix the cause.

03

Logins and who sees what

We check sign-in and make sure each customer sees only their own orders or bookings, never someone else's.

04

Passwords and keys out of the code

AI coding tools often paste secret keys straight into the code. We move them somewhere safe and change any that were exposed.

05

Connections that keep failing

We fix links to Stripe, Shopify, Gmail, and the other tools your app talks to, so payments and emails go through.

06

Notes you can follow

We write down what we changed and how to make the next change safely, so you can keep building.

FAQs

Common questions

What is vibe coding?
It's building an app by describing what you want to an AI coding tool, like Cursor or Claude Code, and letting it write the code. It's fast and it's a good way to test an idea. The code it writes still needs checking and testing before customers rely on it.
Can you help if the app has never worked?
Yes. Send us what it's meant to do and what goes wrong. We'll first check we can run it, then tell you what's missing and what it would take to get it working.
Will you need to start again from scratch?
Usually not. Most AI-built apps have plenty worth keeping. We'll tell you which parts to repair and which to rebuild, and why, before we change anything.
Does it matter which AI tool I used to build it?
A little. What matters more is the code it produced and where the app is hosted. If you used a tool that locks the code inside its own platform, there may be limits on what we can change, and we'll tell you up front.
What do you need from me to start?
A short note on what the app should do, what goes wrong, and any error messages you've seen. Then we agree how to get access to the code. Never email passwords or keys. We'll set up a safe way to share them.
How much does it cost?
We look at the app first, then tell you what the fix involves and which fixed-price package it fits. Solo is $990 a month and covers 1 AI helper set up and kept running, 2 hours a month of our time, and AI running costs. The packages page lists all four. We won't promise a timeline before we've seen the code.
