Data ethics

Data ethics is about using information about people in ways that are fair and honest, even where the law doesn't spell it out. For a small business, it comes down to a few plain questions. Would your customers be surprised by how you use their details? Are you keeping things you don't need? Is an AI tool making decisions about people without anyone checking? A charity holding donor and volunteer details carries real trust. So does a salon that knows clients' health notes. Good data ethics means collecting only what you need, telling people how you use it, and keeping a person in charge of decisions that affect someone's money, health, or reputation.
