Smart home

A smart home is a home with connected devices, like lights, heating, locks, cameras, and speakers, that you can control from your phone or set to run on their own. For many founders the home is also the office, the studio, or the stockroom. A coach who films lessons at home can set the lights and the heating for recording with one tap. A founder who packs orders in the garage can get an alert when the courier leaves a delivery at the door. A home-based maker can check that the kiln or the heater is off from the shops. Smart devices won't run your business for you, and they add another set of passwords and updates to look after, so start with the one that saves you a trip or a worry.
