What Zendesk is
Zendesk is a customer help desk. It gathers customer emails, chats, social messages, and calls into tickets, so your team can see what’s waiting, who has it, and what was said. It also hosts help pages that customers can search before they write in.
How a small team uses it with AI
Most small teams find that a big share of their tickets ask the same few questions. Each one is quick to answer, but only after someone opens the store or booking system to look something up. That fetching is what an AI helper (the industry calls it an agent) takes off your plate.
The AI helper reads each new ticket, works out what it’s asking, looks up the order or booking, and drafts a reply in your tone. Your team reads the draft, changes anything that needs it, and sends. Tickets that need judgement, like a complaint or a refund, get flagged straight to a person instead of drafted.
What we connect and build around it
- Connecting your tools (data pipelines), so Zendesk can see your orders, bookings, and customer history.
- Better instructions (prompt optimisation), so replies follow your tone and your rules about what to promise.
- Help pages kept current, because the AI helper and your customers both read them.
Where Zendesk falls short
Zendesk only knows what’s in the ticket and what you connect to it. If your refund rules live in the owner’s head, the AI helper can’t follow them until they’re written down. It also can’t fix the problem behind a ticket, like a courier delay or a faulty batch. And for a team of one or two, a help desk can be more than you need, so we’ll tell you if a shared inbox does the job.
