What changed
Marlow & Thread is a two-person slow fashion label in Melbourne. Each new drop of 30 pieces needed product descriptions, care notes, and size guides, all written by hand. An AI helper now drafts them from the maker's spec sheet in the label's own tone, and a drop goes live in 2 days instead of 6.

Six days of writing before every drop
Marlow & Thread is a two-person slow fashion label in Melbourne. It releases its pieces in drops of about 30 at a time. Every piece needed a product description, care notes, and a size guide before it could go up on the Shopify store.
The founder wrote all of it by hand from the maker’s spec sheet. With 30 pieces, that took about 6 days per drop, and the pieces sat finished and photographed while the words caught up.
What we set up
We set up an AI helper (the industry calls it an agent) that reads the maker’s spec sheet for each piece. The sheet lists the fabric, the measurements, the trims, and the care details. From that, the AI helper drafts the product description, the care notes, and the size guide, in the label’s own tone, ready to load into Shopify. Size guide graphics still come from the label’s Canva templates, filled from the same measurements.
What didn’t work the first time
The first drafts sounded like every other fashion label, full of soft adjectives and nothing the founder would say. Describing the tone in our instructions didn’t fix it. What worked was better instructions (the industry calls it prompt optimisation). We gave the AI helper twenty of the founder’s own past descriptions as examples, plus a short list of words the label never uses. After that, the drafts needed small edits instead of rewrites.
What changed, and what still needs a person
A drop of 30 pieces now goes live in 2 days instead of 6.
Fit notes still come from the founder trying on each piece, because a spec sheet can’t tell you how a garment sits. The founder also checks every care note against the sewn-in label before a piece goes live.
Where this fits
This is one of our AI helpers, with better instructions doing most of the work on tone. If your new stock waits on copy, get your AI Starter Plan and tell it where your week goes.
What changed
2 days instead of 6
A drop of 30 pieces now goes live in 2 days, down from 6.
Written in the house tone
The AI helper drafts from the maker's spec sheet and a set of the founder's own past descriptions, so new pieces sound like the old ones.
Fit notes from the founder
The founder still tries on each piece and writes the fit notes personally.
