What changed
We work with a four-person social media agency that sends 18 monthly reports to its clients. Building them by hand from Meta and Instagram numbers took two full days a month. The reports now pull the numbers and draft the commentary, and the job takes half a day. The account lead still writes the strategy notes.

Two full days a month on reports
We work with a four-person social media agency with 18 clients on monthly retainers. Each client gets a report at the start of the month showing how their posts and ads went on Facebook and Instagram.
The team built all 18 by hand. They copied numbers out of Meta Business Suite, pasted them into the agency’s Google Slides template, and wrote a few paragraphs on what changed. It took two full days every month.
What we set up
We set up reports that write themselves (the industry calls it automated reporting). A link between the agency’s tools (the industry calls it a data pipeline) pulls each client’s monthly numbers from Meta Business Suite and drops them into the Slides template.
Then the AI drafts the commentary for each client, covering what went up, what went down, and which posts did best. The account lead reads each report, edits the commentary, and adds the strategy notes.
What didn’t work the first time
Our first version explained every number that moved, up or down. The commentary ran to a full page, and clients skimmed past it. We changed the instructions so the AI picks the three changes that matter most for that client’s goals, and the reports got shorter and easier to read.
What changed, and what still needs a person
The 18 monthly reports now take half a day instead of two full days.
The account lead still writes the strategy notes for every client. Those depend on what the client wants next month, and that comes from conversations the data can’t see.
